Plans for a new Starbucks drive-thru in Brockworth have been approved despite objections from local residents regarding noise, pollution, and loss of green space. Gloucester BP Developments Ltd has been granted permission to build the café on 0.67 acres of land north of Delta Way at Gloucester Business Park.
The 1,840 sq ft single-storey development, approved by Tewkesbury Borough Council, faced backlash from locals who raised concerns over privacy, increased traffic, and environmental impact. Many objectors questioned the necessity of another coffee shop, highlighting the presence of Greggs, Costa, and an existing Starbucks nearby.
One resident voiced concerns about removing trees and green space, arguing that the area could instead be used to support local wildlife. Others warned that the additional traffic from the drive-thru could lead to congestion and an increased risk of accidents on an already busy road.
Despite these objections, the council approved the application, allowing Starbucks to proceed with its expansion in the area, for more information click here.
